Video is an extremely powerful tool for businesses. It can be used in blog posts, on websites and on its own. A video is easy to watch, and people are more likely to listen than read on a screen, especially if they’re going to catch something on their small mobile device.

YouTube Is the Number 2 Search Engine
Does that statement surprise you? It’s the truth.
Even when you do a Google search, you’ll see YouTube videos show up in the results. Part of this is because Google owns YouTube, but it’s also because it’s so popular.
YouTube is the number one video sharing site. The benefit is that it offers so many features. You can share videos publicly and privately, comment on various videos and even share things quickly and easily.
You can easily add videos to your blog posts through the embed feature on the site! Or even just include the URL in your post and it will appear automatically for most websites.
Videos Are Easy to Watch
Would you prefer watching a 3-minute video on a topic or try read the writing on a website? Reading can take you a lot longer, and it’s not always easy to skim.
No matter how many times we tell people to format their posts and make them easy to read, people don’t do it. That leads to a high bounce rate and Google decides the site isn’t that good after all.
You don’t want that do you? Of course not!
Videos are just easier to watch, and people are more likely to spend time clicking play. They get everything you could have added in a 1000-word blog post quickly and easily.
Get the Best of Both Worlds
Yes, there are still some people who prefer to read. If I’m on my phone, I often prefer to read because I’m usually on it in bed while my husband sleeps.
When you add videos to your blog posts, you can get the best of both worlds. You get to explain your points for those who want to watch, and then summarize for those who want to read. It takes a little extra work, but you will be rewarded for that.
Nothing worth having came free or without hard work.
Connect With Your Audience More
You can make your voice shine through with words, but it’s not always effective. Trying to get sarcasm across in a post is almost impossible!
Your readers want to connect with you, and the best way of doing that is by seeing your face. They want to hear your voice and watch your expressions. They want to see who you really are.
All that is possible with video. You can be yourself—and you should be yourself.
But what if you don’t want to be on camera? Well, you can always have your voice over the top of a drawing video or over a screen-share demo. There are lots of ways to use video to connect with your audience.
If you don’t add videos to your blog posts, you’re missing out.
You’re a hypocrite. I’m sure that’s something you’re saying to me. Well, right now, yes. I have used video in the past though, and I will go back to that starting from the 17th August. Right now, I’m creating posts to schedule over the next week because I’m going away on vacation. I want to still offer you content, even though it means not doing the exact content I want.
Video is important. Get onto it now and have another way of connecting with your audience.
