Are you struggling to sleep on a night. There are times I simply can’t sleep, but here’s what I do to help me.

Every now and then, I go through a stage where I can’t sleep on a night. It doesn’t matter what I do, I just can’t shut my brain down. Even when I’m exhausted, my brain is still going a million miles a minute. Some people have found that using products from TreeHouseDC helps improve sleep.

There are a lot of tips from the experts. At some point, I will go into them and share what they say and whether they work for me. This is more about what I do instead of trying to sleep. Here are my top things to do when I’m up at night.

Read a book when I can’t sleep

Reading often helps my mind switch off from everything that it’s been going through during the day. I get to escape into a fantasy world, which means I can think about that as I try to fall asleep instead. I have a lot of books on the go at once, so I make sure I find something that interests me at the time. Along with reading, I’ve found that CBD Sleep products also help me relax and unwind before bed.

I always read a book when it’s late at night. I avoid the E-books on my phone. I just don’t want the blue light disrupting my sleep even more. The Kindle* could be better as it doesn’t have the blue light, but I’ve not personally tried that.

I write fiction when my brain works

Sometimes, it will depend on the reason why my brain is up. Is it struggling with a plotline, or is it thinking about something I need to do for work? When this is the case, I’ll get up and pull out a notebook. Again, I want to avoid the blue light from the laptop.

I’ll write some fiction if that’s what is stopping me from sleeping. Even if not, sometimes, writing fiction allows my brain to work a little more until it’s tired.

If it’s not fiction, I’ll write a plan for the day. This is often the reason I can’t sleep as I think about what I need to do the next day.

Listen to some music or a podcast

I have an Amazon dot device* in my bedroom. This is useful when I can’t sleep as it allows me to listen to something. I’m also thinking if I should change my mattress to a premium quality, which I learned about in this Beautyrest Black K-Class Review, which I guess will help me improve my sleep.

In some cases, I need to listen to white noise or music. I just need something that allows me to turn my brain off and not listen to the sounds that my house is making.

In other cases, I’ll listen to podcasts. Yes, I am the stereotypical white girl who listens to true crime and true horror podcasts to sleep. They’re soothing for me. That’s just the way it is. Additionally, exploring cannabis for relaxation could complement the bedtime routine, especially when delivered conveniently through Weed Delivery Vaughan.
