When you’re working from home, you need to make life easier and simpler. It’s time to get a slow cooker to help you do that.

If you don’t have a slow cooker yet, now is the time to get one. You’ll hear all about the benefits of it when you’re working out of the house, but I’ve also found it’s been perfect for cooking when I work from home.

I use my slow cooker at least once a week. This is usually on a Monday when I know I’m at my busiest and I won’t want to do much cooking when the kids get home from school and in a rush for their extracurricular activities.

You can make all sorts of meals in your slow cooker. I’m constantly on TikTok looking for new ideas, and sometimes, I just throw a mixture of ingredients* in and have fun with them! Here’s why you need to get a slow cooker when you’re working from home.

Have dinner cooking while you work

There’s nothing worse than thinking that you have cooking to do when you’re finished work. I’ve always hated that thought. It didn’t matter if I was working from home or when I worked out of the house for someone else. The idea of doing this chore made me sad.

The slow cooker makes things so much easier. I don’t have to think about what to make or the time that it will take to do it all.

Everything is chopped up and prepared when I do lunches on a morning. It only takes a few extra minutes to chop up the vegetables and put them in the pot. Then there’s just the liquids to throw in and I can put the slow cooker on. I won’t always turn it on right away. It all depends on what I’m making.

Everything is quickly put together and then the dish cooks while I work. As soon as the kids walk through the door, it’s ready to eat. And the dishes are hot, which is perfect for the winter. Yes, I have made Chefs Plate meals in the slow cooker, even though they’re not designed that way. The meals taste delicious! Of course, only with certain types of meals.

You’ll save money when you get a slow cooker

Did you know that your slow cooker will use less power than your stove or oven? That’s despite it being on all day. The power that it needs is low, and there’s no need for the gas use if you have a gas stove.

You still get a well-cooked meal. In fact, I’ve found some dishes taste so much better when they’re done in the slow cooker. The only other option would be to slow roast them, and that takes all day with a machine that costs more to run in the house.

On top of that, you don’t need the expensive cuts of meat. You can get lower-quality, cheaper cuts in a delicious way when you cook them in the slow cooker. This further helps to save money in your cooking.

Reduce the amount of cleanup that you need to do

A third reason to get a slow cooker is to cut down on the amount that you need to do afterward. You cook everything in one dish. Well, unless you have pasta and then you’re going to do the pasta on the side. The majority of the dish is made in your device.

This makes your life after eating so much easier. There is much less to clean up. The majority of these cookers will have a dish that pulls out of the cooking base and you can put it in the dishwasher, further helping to cut down on the work that you need to do afterward.

Washing up after cooking is a pain, but it needs to be done. You usually have multiple pots and pans, as well as the dishes and cutlery. Well, how about you get rid of as much work as possible so you can enjoy the life part of your work-life balance? That’s the point of working from home, right?
