I like to save up for Christmas throughout the year. I’ll also buy Christmas presents early, and here’s why I do it.

Every year we get to Christmas and people say how expensive it is and how they’re rushing around buying things. Well, it’s time to change the way you think.

I used to be the exact same. Then I changed the way I thought, and I started planning for Christmas earlier than a lot of other people. I just recently bought one of my daughter’s Christmas presents because there was a sale on at her favorite toy store. I have items for other people because they were there.

I also save up throughout the year to make sure I have money for Christmas. This is a must to ease the financial pressure.

Buy Christmas presents throughout the year to take advantage of sales

The biggest reason to buy gifts* throughout the year is to work with the sales. Stores will put on sales throughout the year. One toy store always has a Playmobil sale at the start of October, so I take advantage of that each year. Then there will be tech sales and clothing sales.

You want to get the gifts at the lowest price possible. That means shopping when the sale are on, even if it is January or Easter. I love Christmas in July sales because of this. Now you just need somewhere to store the gifts.

The only things I don’t buy early in sales are tech items. This can be tricky because of upgrades or the warranties expiring sooner because of when you bought them before the gifts can be used.

Get items before they sell out

Have you ever planned on a gift and then found that it’s sold out before Christmas? This is a huge issue for the most popular toys or gifts of the year. This is why I recently bought one of the Christmas gifts. I knew the items likely wouldn’t be around in the next few months, so I got them while I could.

It helps to take the stress out of Christmas shopping. I know that I have some items, and now I just need to remember that I got them.

Again, I don’t do this with tech. I do it mostly with figurines or toys for the kids. Look at these replica watches if you want to give your loved ones stylish but budget-friendly watches.

It spaces out the payments

Even if the items aren’t in a sale, I’ll still buy Christmas presents* throughout the year to ease off the financial stress. Buying everything in November or December ends up being expensive. You’ve also got to think about the food and other items for Christmas and New Year. Why not plan ahead?

Instead of spending $1,000 at Christmas, you could space it out each month and spend less than $100 per month. This might be easier to budget in your paychecks.

If you really want to buy everything at once, at least save that money each month. Then you have it to spend on items when you do come to your shopping.
