There are times that it takes forever for a network to decide on a renewal, especially Netflix. You know that the series is doing well when a renewal comes through almost immediately, and that’s happened with The Night Agent.
Despite the third season only dropping on Thursday, Feb. 19, Netflix has already made a decision. The Night Agent Season 4 is officially happening.
I almost feel like we already knew the season was happening, but I wonder if there were just talks about it. The one good thing is that it should help to keep the release around the same as previous seasons, which is just over a year.
When Could We Expect The Night Agent Season 4?
There isn’t much to go off just yet. The early renewal could help to cut down the time to a year, but The Night Agent hasn’t exactly been consistent. It took almost two years between the first two seasons, and then it took just over a year to get the third season.
Now that the focus is on the renewal and the writing, it could help to keep the release to around the same as that of Season 3. That would suggest we’re looking at around March or April 2027 for The Night Agent Season 4.
Who Will Return to The Night Agent?
We know that Gabriel Basso will return as Peter Sutherland. That part is a given, as the series is focused on him and his job at the White House — and now beyond.
While the third season saw the likes of Louis Herthum, Stephen Moyer, and Jennifer Morrison as series regulars, there is no guarantee that they will return. Luciane Buchanan didn’t return for the third season, after playing Rose for two seasons, and while the door was left open for her, schedules can get tricky to bring characters back.
What Will The Night Agent Season 4 Be About?
While the series is based on the book by Matthew Quirk, it has grown from that first season. There are characters we’ve never met before, and the storylines have taken lives of their own.
So, the fourth season is sure to continue this growth. Peter is now a Night Agent himself, but he needs to figure out if there is a way to have a personal life in the middle of the horror and trauma. According to TV Insider, showrunner Shawn Ryan has said that this could be the focus for the fourth season, but there’s sure to be a conspiracy at the same time.
