There’s Some Disappointing News About FBI and CIA Tonight — But We Know When the Shows Are Back!

FBI and CIA

In some disappointing news, FBI and CIA won’t air new episodes tonight, Monday, April 6. It’s always annoying when schedules take a break, but we do have some good news. This is a short break, and there shouldn’t be a need for another one after this.

Of course, the “shouldn’t be a need” will depend on when the finales are going to air. CBS hasn’t confirmed finale dates just yet, although it shouldn’t be long before that happens, especially with the Upfronts happening next week!

Why Are FBI and CIA on a Break?

The two FBI universe shows are taking a break for a couple of reasons. The first is due to The Neighborhood getting a farewell special. After airing a new episode in the usual timeslot, CBS wants to say goodbye to the series in style. It has been on the air for eight seasons, after all, and it has been one of the strongest comedies on the network.

So, that means FBI’s timeslot is slightly taken over. The special is an hour long, and it cuts into half of the 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot. There will be a rerun of The Neighborhood afterward, and then there will be a rerun of CIA in the final timeslot of the night.

The break is also useful to spread out episodes. There are just four episodes of CIA left, and CBS will want to get them into May, when the usual finales air. This means a break is needed — and we may need another one if CBS wants to push into late May rather than right at the start of the month.

When Are FBI and CIA Back?

The good news is the break isn’t that long. The two shows will return on Monday, April 13 with new episodes. There are also new episodes set to air on Monday, April 20.

FBI Season 8 Episode 17 it titled “Shahadah,” and it will involve the murder of a psychiatrist. This is not your typical murder, as the psychiatrist was also tortured, and this leads the New York Field Office to a religious leader.

Special Agent Zara Ushruf, played by Pardis Saremi, will join the team to help to deal with this horrific case. She’s someone OA will get close to, and there are questions if this could open another relationship avenue for him.

CIA Season 1 Episode 7 is titled “Elimination Game,” and it involves the team handling the security of an international soccer game. When two of the players are hunted after they go missing, the Fusion Cell will need to get to the bottom of it.

They won’t be alone, though. FBI’s Isobel Castille and Maggie Bell will aid with the case. It’s the first mini crossover moment involving someone other than Jubal.

Get ready for the two episodes on Monday, April 13 starting at 9/8c on CBS.
