The Hunting Party fans got the devastating news that NBC wouldn’t be continuing with the series. After two seasons, NBC has decided to cancel it, repeating history with Grosse Pointe Garden Society.
However, the series will be shopped around. It’s been a long time since a network show has been saved by a streamer, but there is one main hope.
Netflix!
The Hunting Party Has Performed Well on Netflix
In February 2026, The Hunting Party* Season 1 went to Netflix. This was a chance to see if more eyeballs could end up on the serial killer crime series, and it worked. The show quickly flew up the Netflix charts.
Sadly, it wasn’t enough to help the show on NBC. While there was some interest when The Hunting Party Season 2 returned after the Winter Olympics, it clearly wasn’t enough to keep the show on the air.
But, with the success of The Hunting Party on Netflix, it makes sense that this would be the streamer to save the hope of seeing a third season.
It’s worked before, with Manifest hitting well on the streamer, so it eventually picked it up to finish the story. Lucifer fans also got a second life on the platform after it was canceled abruptly by FOX after three seasons. As long as Netflix sees there is international interest, it is more likely to save a show.
So, Will Netflix Save The Hunting Party?
This is where it gets a little tricky. The Hunting Party was only released on the platform in the United States. Not everywhere internationally gets it on Netflix, and that makes it harder to track the success that the global platform could have.
So, there is a chance that Netflix won’t take the risk.
We may have to wait to see if the streamer gets the second season and then see how well that performs before a decision is made. The problem then is cast options start to run out.
There is a lot that goes into the decisions to save a show, including the viewership, the plot ideas for the third season, and the surrounding voices around it to make it clear that more is needed. This is also a network show, which means digital and DVD options, and Netflix doesn’t traditionally like them as it takes viewers off the platform.
This is the time to push hard on social media to save The Hunting Party*, because it deserves it.
The Hunting Party is currently available to stream on Netflix and Peacock.
