CIA Will Have More Crossover Moments with FBI

CIA

When CIA‘s series premiere details were shared, it came with the unsurprising news that there would be a crossover with FBI. As with other FBI spinoffs, Jeremy Sisto will be part of the new story, likely as a way to set up the team and introduce everyone.

Sisto’s Jubal Valentine has been there for crossover moments on FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International. We also got to see Alana de la Garza now and then on FBI: Most Wanted, which was easily possible due to the location of the two shows. After all, the Fugitive Task Force’s main base was in New York.

Now it looks like thanks to CIA‘s main base being in New York is going to open up to more crossover moments. And we won’t just see Garza’s Isobel or Sisto’s Valentine.

The Crossover Moments Will Work Both Ways on FBI and CIA

We will get to see Missy Peregrym head over to CIA now and then as Special Agent Maggie Bell. She is one of the best field operators in New York, so it makes sense that she may be needed to step in at times during the cases.

However, according to Deadline, the crossover moments won’t just be on the spinoff’s side. We’ll also get to see those from the spinoff on the main series. So far, Necar Zadegan’s CIA character Deputy Chief of Station Nikki Reynard will appear on the series now and then. It does make sense since one of the team members that she’ll likely be in charge of is an FBI agent.

With some hope, it will also mean that we’ll see either Tom Ellis or Nick Gehlfuss on the parent show. After all, there are sure to be moments when the two teams are working on the same case.

What Is CIA about?

The new FBI spinoff series follows FBI Special Agent Bill Goodman (Gehlfuss) as he joins CIA Agent Colin Glass (Ellis). The two will end up on a joint clandestine task force, where they uncover various terrorist cells, international plots, and much more.

Of course, a by-the-book agent isn’t going to do well with the CIA, so Goodman will need to figure out how to be a little more like Glass. This is the only way to keep America safe from the dangerous foes out there, but it doesn’t mean Goodman is going to like doing it all. There may be some work that is best left to Glass.

CIA will premiere on Monday, Feb. 23 at 10/9c on CBS, following the return of FBI season 8.
