The 911 Shows and Grey’s Anatomy Aren’t On Tonight — But They Will Return Soon!

We are more than ready to jump into another impactful three hours of first responder and medical drama. 911, 911: Nashville, and Grey’s Anatomy usually take up our Thursday nights, but there is some disappointing news.

All three shows are taking some time off tonight, Thursday, April 9. We do, at least, get to know when they will return. We’re building up to the season finales, which are sure to be epic.

Why Are the 911 Shows and Grey’s Anatomy Off Tonight?

The break is somewhat expected. We’re getting to the end of the season, but ABC will want to make sure at least one episode airs in May. After all, May is a big time for the Nielsen viewer data, and it’s great for the networks to show how successful their primetime shows are for the advertisers.

With just two episodes left of the three shows this season, it means stretching them out. The best thing to do is to have one last break in the schedule and then air them back-to-back. It’s annoying for us to have to wait, but it does mean that we have something to look forward to. This also helps to keep the summer break to a bit more of a minimum,

This is why ABC has held the Thursday night shows until March. However, it opted for an earlier return from the winter break due to the Winter Olympics. We may see everything move back to the way it’s been done in more recent years very soon.

When Will 911, 911: Nashville, and Grey’s Anatomy Return?

The good news is we know when the end of the break is going to be. We only have to wait until Thursday, April 30. All three shows are back, and we get an insight into what to expect.

On 911 Season 9 Episode 17, the 118 will be called out to a boy on the top of an electrical pole. Nobody knows how he got up there, but if he catches the wrong wire, he will be electrocuted. Now the firefighters have to figure out the way up to save him.

Meanwhile, Dixie is going to write a song on 911: Nashville Season 1 Episode 17 that creates drama. Dixie is telling secrets of the Hart family, and it means war. Even Blue isn’t happy with that.

Meanwhile, Maya from Station 19 is going to head to Grey Sloan Memorial for medical attention after being injured in a structure fire. Now, we know that Maya gets a life with Carina based on the way Station 19 ending, but there are sure to be near misses leading up to that. On top of that, a bridge collapse puts Owen and Nick’s lives on the line.

The TGIT shows will return on Thursday, April 30, starting at 8/7c on ABC. The finales will air on Thursday, May 7, and then we’ll have to wait to see ABC’s plan for the fall. With all three shows renewed, we are expecting Thursday nights to remain the same!
