We are all certainly ready for a new episode of The Testaments, especially with how the previous episode ended. There is a lot to play for, as it looks like the fight to take down Gilead has finally started among the teenage girls.

Here’s where we have some bad news, but it’s only bad news for now. There isn’t a new episode of The Testaments dropping on Wednesday, June 3 on Hulu, and no, this isn’t some weird break that the streamer is taking.

The Testaments Season 1 Has Come to an End

The previous episode was the end of The Testaments Season 1. Yes, there were only 10 episodes, which is about normal for a show on the Disney-owned network. Most seasons of The Handmaid’s Tale* only had 10 episodes, so we always expected the sequel series to follow suit.

With so much to play for, there are a lot of questions about what’s to come next. After all, Agnes has learned that her biological mother is “The Handmaid,” June Osborne. She now knows that she is the daughter of the rebel who helped to bring Gilead to an end in Boston.

Meanwhile, Daisy realized that she needed to remain in Gilead. After spending the last few episodes trying to get out, she realized that her place is by the sides of Shunnamite, Agnes, Hulda, and Becka.

Speaking of Becka, she was forced to marry Garth after her mother took the blame for the murder of Dr. Grove. Nobody really cared about who would be punished, as long as someone was executed for his death. Becka was lucky that Garth agreed to marry her to protect her, but it’s not going to be without complications and issues. After all, Garth is supposedly Mayday.

I say “supposedly” because there are a few times he’s seemed suspicious. Is it possible he’s a double agent working for Gilead?

Yes, There Will Be a Second Season

In some excellent news, the ending isn’t with all these questions and cliffhangers forever. The Testaments Season 2 is officially happening.

Now the question really is about when that second season will arrive. It’s plausible for it to arrive sometime before 2027 comes to an end. Hopefully, we’ll only see one year between each season, because this is a show that needs momentum and needs to bring answers as fast as possible.

The Testaments is available to stream on Hulu, and I highly recommend The Testaments book* while you wait for the second season.
