We’ll Get To See More of 2 Key Characters During Sheriff Country Season 2

Sheriff Country

We’re closing in on the end of Sheriff Country Season 1, but that doesn’t mean the story is over. This is a show that was quickly renewed, becoming one of the first CBS shows renewed for the 2026–2027 season.

With that in mind, of course, there are going to be changes to the cast. Sheriff Country Season 2 will see two actors upped to series regulars, which means more time with characters.

Amanda Arcuri and Ian Quinlan Have Been Promoted for Sheriff Country Season 2

Deadline reports that both Amanda Arcuri and Ian Quinlan have been promoted to series regulars for the second season of the Fire Country spinoff. This means that we’ll get to see more of Skye Fraley and Hank Iglesias.

The two have made positive impressions on the show so far. Skye was initially introduced in the pilot episode, where she quickly fell under suspicion of murder, and that even nearly went to trial. However, she didn’t do it, and after Mickey took matters into her own hands, she was able to clear her daughter of the charges.

Hank was introduced a handful of episodes into the first season, and he quickly became a driving force for Cassidy to search for her missing sister. Since then, he’s proven himself as a loyal deputy to Mickey and a great sounding board for Cassidy.

How the Two Characters Can Grow on Sheriff Country

It’s not clear how the show will utilize the two characters, but there are some excellent options available. The last we saw of Skye, she had decided to join her Aunt Miranda’s law practice. This got her away from her dad at work, giving her the chance to gain more experience and figure out what she wants to do in life.

We could see that growth continues now that she’s upped to series regular. It allows more time at the law practice, seeing her in the world of work and how that could clash with Mickey’s job as a sheriff.

As for Hank, it’ll likely mean more storylines at the sheriff’s office for him. There has been some great banter between Hank and Cassidy throughout the first season, so I hope that continues. They have a great working relationship, especially as Hank pushed Cassidy to look into things and then supported her as soon as she did without question.

There is no word on anyone leaving the series just yet. This offers hope that we’re not losing anyone. However, it does mean that Christopher Gorham will remain a recurring guest star for now, and that could put a dampener on the Mickey/Travis shippers out there.

Sheriff Country airs on Fridays at 8/7c on CBS.
