Going into a new season of a TV series is usually scary. We have no idea if we’ll get more to the story. Amazon has been good when it comes to the likes of Reacher, with renewals either coming in soon after seasons begin or ahead of the game. With Reacher Season 5, we have some excellent news.
During Amazon’s Upfronts on May 11, 2026, the company announced that while there wasn’t a premiere date for Reacher Season 4, there would be more to the story. It makes sense, as well, as this is a series that has continually pulled in new viewers and proves to be exactly what the book readers needed.
Reacher Season 5 Will Officially Happen at Prime Video
There is no debate about Reacher Season 5. Peter Friedlander, the Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios, explained that “Reacher has evolved into a true powerhouse franchise.” Yes, it’s a franchise, as there is still the Neagley spinoff to come.
The show has mixed “high-octane action with compelling character storytelling,” and that’s helped to draw in tens of millions of viewers globally. So, it was a no-brainer to renew the series for a fifth season well ahead of the Season 4 debut.
Season 4 Will Adapt Gone Tomorrow by Lee Child
While announcing the renewal, we also learned that Reacher Season 4 will adapt the 13th novel in Lee Child’s collection, Gone Tomorrow. In this story, Reacher is pulled into a deadly game after a chance encounter with a distraught stranger on a subway ends up taking a dark and horrible turn.
As usual, Reacher is pulled into a bigger conspiracy, and one that he will need to use his military skills to get out of. It’s not clear if any of his former team will help him again, although we usually get to see Neagley show up to help.
There are, of course, no details about Reacher Season 5 just yet. We’ll need to see how the fourth season develops, and we probably won’t get to see that until late 2026 at the very earliest. I’m leaning more into 2027, with Neagley coming out in 2026.
