From Season 5 Being the End Is Bittersweet — But Ultimately, It’s a Good Thing

From Season 5

From Season 5 has officially been confirmed by MGM+. On top of that, the show is heading into production later this year, helping to keep the wait between the fourth and fifth seasons to a minimum. Deadline states that the aim is to release the season in 2027. With From Season 4 premiering this month, that only means waiting a year.

That’s great, but there is some sad news that comes with the renewal. From Season 5 is going to be the last of this excellent horror series. And yes, it’s definitely sad. I’m going to miss it. At the same time, it’s good news for one particular reason.

From Gets to Finish on Its Own Terms

The biggest benefit of From Season 5 being marked as the end is that it’s not MGM+ making the decision. This is a decision of everyone involved, allowing the series to craft the ending that it always intended.

There is always a risk that fans won’t get to see the conclusion of the story in the way the creators ever wanted. Shows are often canceled abruptly, and this leads to not even getting answers, let alone some rushed answers.

From has the opportunity to deliver every single answer that we need. Well, every single answer that the creators think we need. There are already some major questions that we hope the fourth season will answer, such as how the Man in Yellow is, but there are sure to be more before the season comes to a close.

The simple fact is that because MGM+ had faith in the show, we get closure. That’s the most important thing in the world when it comes to storytelling, and so many networks and streamers have forgotten about that in the chase for more profits.

From Season 5 Will Hopefully Arrive in 2027

The aim is for the season to arrive in 2027. This does mean that we’ve had almost one season a year, which is another huge win for the show. So many shows take two or three years to create, and yes, there are some that need that time. However, it means we’re left completely forgetting about what happened one season to the next.

I firmly believe that one of the reasons From did so well — although the main reason is the quality of the show — is because it was able to set a very standard timeline.

Seasons 1 and 2 arrived in April 2022 and 2023, respectively, and then there was a little bit of an extra wait for Season 3, which premiered in September 2024. Okay, we’ve had to wait a little longer for Season 4, which will premiere in April 2026. That has just missed the ability to bring a season a year, but the wait hasn’t been too long, and the quality has remained high.

It’s likely that we’ll have to wait until around September 2027 to see the conclusion, and it’s sure to be worth the wait.

From Season 4 will premiere on Sunday, April 19 on MGM+.
