There have been two NBC shows left on the bubble until the end, and so far, only one of those has got an answer about its fate. Law & Order has finally been renewed, while the future of The Hunting Party remains in limbo.
It’s possible that The Hunting Party will move to Peacock. However, for now, it’s not going to be part of the NBC lineup. As the fall 2026 schedule has been revealed, it comes with some unscripted surprises.
The Traitors Gets a Fall Slot
NBC continues to pull from its Peacock slate, and this time, it’s The Traitors that is going to get a broadcast showing. This isn’t too surprising considering the popularity of the unscripted show, but it makes it clear that Thursdays aren’t the strong night for NBC that they used to be.
What’s even more surprising is that The Traitors will kick off Thursday nights, rather than end it. Instead, Law & Order will move to the last slot of the night, which is the trickiest and where many shows have landed and swiftly been canceled. Sure, NBC wants to start off strong, but is this crime and legal drama right for the later slot?
There are also two new shows arriving in the fall, with Peter Krause’s new series bring the big drama of the fall on Monday nights. Line of Fire will kick things off in September or October, following a two-hour episode of The Voice. Then from November, St. Denis Medical and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins to return, with one hour of The Voice and then Line of Fire continuing its freshman run.
NBC will continue to run the NBA games on Tuesdays, and we will also end up with some MLB games airing, as the broadcast network continues its sports push. Of course, Sundays will remain focused on the NFL, with Sunday Night Football on our screens.
However, Wednesdays will remain One Chicago night, and then Fridays will start off with comedy, with Newlyweds as the new multi-cam comedy taking over Stumble’s spot after Happy’s Place.
