One thing you’ll notice from me is that I’m upfront when things don’t go to plan. I don’t try to hide behind things. It’s best to just hold my hands up and say my plan was too ambitious or I didn’t quite have a plan and just arbitrary goals with no idea how to reach them. Well, that’s what happened with my blogging plan in 2019 for Lifestyle with Alexandria.
When I made a switch to cover the Lifestyle niche, I didn’t really develop a proper plan. I knew roughly what I wanted to gain, but not how I was going to achieve that.
Getting the focus just right
That’s why I didn’t bother writing anything in December. I had to reassess. I needed to look at what I was doing and what I wanted to achieve. This has led me to this point.
It’s January 2020 and I’m ready to start again. I’m ready to offer value with this blog. Because, quite honestly, that’s what you deserve.
My blog is taking another slight change. It’s still lifestyle, but it’s a more focused look at the lifestyle night. We’re switching to the Work at Home Mom Lifestyle. That means bringing you tips on being a WAHM. I’ll focus on some of the opportunities around right now, what it’s like to parent as a WAHM, and tips on managing your money as a WAHM.
Will this lose some of you? Oh, for sure! I know that. I know that there are guys that read this blog—or at least you did when it was a blog about blogging. But I need to change to something more focused. I need to make sure I can offer value, and that means making my intentions clear.
If you want to know more about blogging, I urge you to check out Blogging Blissfully. This is the new home for all my blogging content. That’s focused purely on making money with blogging, writing, private clients, and more. This is more to do with the lifestyle of a work at home mom.
Finding a blogging plan that works for 2020
I had to find a plan and a schedule that I could stick to. There will be people telling you to write daily. Or you’ll hear that you need to pin 20 times a day to gain an audience.
Sure, they are right, but at the same time, you need to be realistic with yourself. With work, I just can’t blog daily on one blog. That would burn me out. I’ve tried it and that’s kind of why I started to run out of steam. I wasn’t loving the change as much as I thought I would.
So, now I’m opting for two blog posts per week. They’ll be posted on Wednesdays and Fridays. I’m not going to have a specific topic per day. However, I will stick to some themes. January is about tips to make the WAHM lifestyle work. I’ll share time management tips, ways to make new habits stick, and much more. It’s all about that fresh start.
